Αυτές οι προκλήσεις θα συζητηθούν στο 4ο Διεθνές Workshop για υβριδικά ενεργειακά συστήματα, το οποίο θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Κρήτη στις 22-23 Μαίου 2019 (στο “Out Of The Blue Capsis Elite Resort” στην Αγία Πελαγία Ηρακλείου).

4th International Hybrid Power Systems Workshop from 22 – 23 May 2019 in Crete, Greece

One major challenge of island and micro-grids is to maintain the balance between production and consumption. Diesel generators are still frequently used for this task. Due to the dependence on fuel price and delivery options, alternatives are being sought. Renewable energies are independent of imported fuels and environment friendly, and therefore the logical choice for island and micro-grids.

However, these renewable energies are dependent on variable resource availability; hence their maximum production capacity is subject to natural fluctuations. It is therefore important to develop strategies for how to align production and consumption in the best possible way and to find the perfect combination of conventional and renewable energy.

The 4th International Hybrid Power Systems Workshop from 22 – 23 May 2019 in Crete, Greece offers its participants the opportunity to discuss these challenges and present solution approaches. International experts will convene at the Out Of The Blue Capsis Elite Resort to share their project experiences and to detect areas in need of improvement.

The English-language Workshop offers 80+ insightful presentations in 20 sessions in which the experts show their hands-on experiences, results and solutions. During five dedicated project experience sessions, 120+ participants get the opportunity to learn about experiences from concluded and on-going projects around the world with a focus on lessons learnt. Featured island grids e.g. include Indonesia, the Canary Islands, the Azores, Jamaica and many more.

The opening session will focus on grid integration of renewables in Greece. A dedicated session on project experiences in Greece e.g. will provide deep insights into the power systems of Greek islands with a focus on the workshop host island Crete and case studies from Samos and Tilos.

The spectrum of Workshop topics ranges from hybrid system technologies and system modelling/simulation to ancillary services and forecasting issues.

The preliminary program is now available online and online registration has started: http://hybridpowersystems.org/
