General information

Following the recent development of the PV market, Solar Cells Hellas Group has been motivated to enter the sector dynamically by completing an investment of the order of 120 million Euros in the Industrial Zone of Patras, Greece for the industrial production of wafers, cells and modules with a total annual capacity of 80MWp. The Group consists of two production facilities, both located in the Industrial Zone of Patras and founded in 2005. Production of wafers and cells started in the second half of 2008 and module production in the second quarter of 2009. The buildings, covering an area of 14000m2, located on privately owned land of 21700m2 house state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring production of the highest international standards. In full capacity the production lines will employ about 390 people.

Apart from production, the Group is also active in providing high quality professional solutions for the realization of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) projects, including technical and financial services, energy saving solutions and design, construction, operation and maintenance of PV plants. Solar Cells Hellas Group is also investing in its own technology: 27MWp of PV plants are in the process of development and installation on privately owned fields in Greece.

Solar Cells Hellas Group closely follows the continuous technological developments in the PV sector, through strategic co-operations with research centres, universities and other institutes in Greece and abroad, while an in-house research and development (R&D) department is already in operation. In parallel, through the participation in research projects and the financing of PhD programmes, Solar Cells Hellas Group is always at the leading edge of technology. Solar Cells Hellas Group is a member of HELAPCO (Hellenic Association of Photovoltaic Companies) and HAPVI (Hellenic Association of PV Industry), being able to follow and influence the national developments. In parallel, as a member of EPIA (European Photovoltaic Industry Association) and Greek- German Chamber of Commerce, it actively participates in international activities in the field of photovoltaics. The Group also participates in International Scientific Councils and Committees such as the EU PV Technology Platform. Showing its commitment to quality, personnel safety and environmental protection, Solar Cells Hellas Group has been certified according to international quality standards, namely ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System), 14001:2004 (Environmental Quality Management System) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety Management System). The aim of Solar Cells Hellas Group is to contribute to the dissemination of PV technology, providing high quality products at competitive prices and to play a leading role in the Greek market while enjoying a major international presence.
